Having had to pull out of my first race of the season in Harrogate due to illness, I wasn’t expecting too much from my performance. The race this year was a qualifier for the 2027 World Championships in Hamburg.
As last year I had a good solid swim and got to the front early, first out of the water again giving me a lead into transition and onto the bike. I had to complete 4 laps of the course with no bike glasses as I manged to leave them in transition. The bike leg went well with a good PB from last year on a very narrow technical circuit. Really happy with the run and the weather was kinder than last year.
Finished 3rd in my age group with an overall PB and secured a Q2 place for Hamburg.
