I began my sporting career when I joined City of Wakefield Swimming Club at the age of 7. By the age of 9 I was actively competing with great success in all strokes, at all distances from 50m to 1500m. I swam at County and Regional level for 10 years, getting into National Rankings for the 1500M freestyle. Sadly Covid 19 closed the pools and I was unable to swim for several months.
Once able to swim again, I decided to give open water swimming a go and as a keen cyclist and runner wondered if Triathlon was the way forward. Needless to say I took to it like a duck to water and joined The Blue Lagooners Triathlon & Open Water Swimming Club / Evolve Endurance, training under the guidance of Coaches Morgan Williams and Beverley Firth in the open water at Blue Lagoon in Womersley and in the pool at Askern Leisure Centre and Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool. I competed in my first Sprint Triathlon in late 2020 and have never looked back
I am presently employed as a Sports Supervisor at Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool. I am a qualified RLSS Lifeguard, STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher and Level 1 Swim Coach.
I train under the guidance of my Triathlon Coach, Carrine Green who I have been working with for some time now. I also swim with Tadcaster York Swim Squad.
The last few years have been a blast with some amazing results both at home and overseas, the highlight so far being qualification for the GBR Age Group World Championships in Wollongong, Australia in October 2025.
There is more to come and I look forward seeing where my Triathlon career goes. Watch this space.
