I travelled to Tarragona, Southern Spain to compete in the European Triathlon Championships. The race proved to be challenging in the blistering Spanish heatwave. A good swim despite getting caught up in the ‘washing machine’ at the start, (no wet suits allowed), followed by a pretty decent bike and run however neither was pleasant as the temperatures soared. Not my best race place wise but not my worst either. I placed 17th overall but there wasn’t much between the British athletes and my finish time was a personal best.
