A change of venue this year from the previous two years in Leeds, and Sunderland did not disappoint. After the threat of rain, the sun came out and the weather held for the race albeit a bit breezy. A choppy sea swim in the harbour area off Roker Beach accompanied by an inquisitive seal. Second out of the water and onto a very hilly and technical bike course followed by a 10k run before entering the blue carpet for the finish line. I finished a very respectable 5th in my age group with a 6 minute PB for a standard distance triathlon. Good day in the office.
