My first sprint triathlon of the season was at Ashville College in Harrogate. The weather conditions on the day were awful, heavy rain and a biting cold northerly wind. The swim went well but running out of a warm pool into transition in torrential rain wasn’t fun. Transitions were on the slow side but the bike went well other than a slight malfunction (chain coming off at the bottom of a hill). The rain abated slightly for the run which went well. Finished 3rd in my age group and 20th overall. Not bad considering the weather and it being the first one of the season.
