Southport Sprint Triathlon

World Age Group Qualifier – 19th May, 2024.

My first time competing at the Southport Triathlon and it did not disappoint. The weather was kind, albeit a little on the warm side, but the swim, bike and run courses were all excellent.

The mass start swim meant I got a little held back but I soon made good headway and exited with a very respectable time. The bike section went smoothly with no mishaps on a really enjoyable course. The run was a bit on the slow side as I was still nursing an ankle injury which forced me to withdraw from the Tadcaster Sprint Triathlon two weeks earlier, but it held up well with no ill effects.

I finished 4th in my age group and within the percentage required behind the first placed athlete, so am very proud to announce that I have qualified for the British Triathlon World Age Group Sprint Triathlon Championships in Australia in 2025. Excellent day at the office.

So proud of this achievement which could not have been achieved without the help and support of the following people.
